Fernthai Volunteer Foundation is a small volunteer foundation working Thailands poorest and most remote rural Issan areas. We provide voluntary English education throughout 7 rural primary schools, we also work alongside the local United Nations tackling social development issues and with the Pearl S Buck foundation giving free advice and education relating to HIV/AIDS awareness. We also work alongside the local forest commission tackling numerous environmental projects.
Fernthai Volunteer Foundation is now entering its 4th year of free voluntary service for some of Thailands poorest rural communities. Working alongside The United Nations Development Programme on Educational, Environmental, & Social Development issues. 2008 sees us unveil ambitious plans for phase 1 of a $20,000 FREE education center and combined volunteer hostel ensuring vital volunteer aid for many years to come - an investment for the future well being of the people we aim to help. All of our work is carried out on an entirely voluntary basis and without our volunteers we simply simply wouldn't exist so a huge thank-you to them. However, volunteers alone can't keep the foundation financially secure, we also rely on the generosity of the general public - those who still believe in our cause but can't commit to volunteering in Thailand are of equal importance.
